Cybercriminalité

With the continuous expansion of the Internet, the widening exposure of society to the use of information and communications technologies and the development of associated devices and services, cybercrime is rising at an exponential rate and causing unprecedented financial loss, social unrest and harm. The existence and easy access to hacking tools, social engineering techniques and money laundering infrastructure as a service on the internet and the darknet, has made cybercrime accessible even to technically unsophisticated criminals.

Organised by Swiss Web Academy, in partnership with Cybercrime Programme Office, Geneva State Police, French Gendarmerie and its Research Centre, Italian National Observatory for Cyber Security, with support from NTT DATA Romania, this edition takes place in Sibiu, Romania. For this congress, opened to a 360° debate, the main topics focus on the cybercrime and cybersecurity threats and developments, followed by the necessary solutions to effectively address these challenges.

The Joint project of the European Union and Council of Europe iPROCEEDS-2 supports the criminal justice authorities in the project countries to participate at regional and international Internet industry and technology events, with focus on increasing trust between public and private sector in ensuring security of cyberspace. For this event, iPROCEEDS-2 facilitates the presence of representatives of Department for High-Tech Crime of the Ministry of Interior of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Benefitting from multiple-angles views from experts and moderators coming from DNSC - Romanian National Cyber Security and Incident Response Team, SRI - Romanian Information Service, Swiss Armed Forces, ICRC - International Committee of the Red Cross, the debates focus on identifying the main threats and typologies of attacks, sharing of best practices and tools to be used for an increased response to cybercrime and building trust between public and private sector.
