Beatrice Panattoni

Beatrice Panattoni is a Postdoctoral Researcher in criminal law at the University of Luxembourg. She previously held a postdoctoral position at the University of Verona (Italy), where she obtained her PhD. She has been a visiting scholar at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law, as well as at the University of Washington (US). Her research focuses on the convergence of criminal law and digital technologies, specifically on cybercrime, illegal content online, platforms liability, and AI-related offences. She investigates how models of responsibility for crimes in digital environments interact with regulatory theories and shape criminal policy, as well as how legal frameworks adapt to the challenges posed by automated systems.
