Welcome to the new website of the Council of Europe’s Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law.

It is currently undergoing changes made necessary by the restructuring of our Organisation in order to align the content with the 2012-13 priorities adopted by the Committee of Ministers.

Here you will find complete information on our standard-setting and monitoring activities, as well as our on-the-ground co-operation activities with member states. These activities are at the heart of the mission of the Council of Europe, as part of the new Europe and at the service of 800 million Europeans.
