The Government of Cyprus has made a voluntary contribution of  €1,724.08 towards the implementation of the Council of Europe’s Action plan on the fight against violent extremism and radicalisation leading to terrorism (2015-2017).

This action plan aims to reinforce the legal framework against terrorism and violent extremism as well as to prevent and fight violent radicalisation through concrete measures in the public sector, in particular in schools and prisons, and on the Internet.

The agreement was signed on 17 March 2017 by Ambassador Theodora Constantinidou, Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the Council of Europe, and Mrs Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General.
