At its first meeting of the year on 22 January 2026, the Rapporteur Group on Social and Health Questions (GR-SOC) received a briefing from the Pompidou Group Secretariat on recent progress and key developments in the Pompidou Group’s work.

GR-SOC Members noted the main outcomes of the 97th Permanent Correspondents Committee meeting (27 November 2025); and the 19^th Ministerial Conference, including adoption of the 2026–2029 Work Programme, which outlines the next working cycle of the enlarged partial agreement.   

The exchange provided GR-SOC with an overview of how recent decisions and governance steps are shaping the Pompidou Group’s priorities and implementation for the years ahead focusing on institutional developments and enlarging the scope of policy development work.
