The Executive Secretary of the EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement participated in the Action-oriented Dialogue on “Inclusive and collaborative systems for heat and wildfire risks governance”, held in Athens on 21 October 2022. The conference was hosted by the Hellenic Republic, in collaboration with UNDRR.

The Action-oriented Dialogue aimed to address key issues of enhanced collaboration and common strategies to tackle extreme temperatures and heatwaves, whilst preventing wildfires and building on existing national plans or measures to move beyond the traditional focus on disaster response. It also served as a forum for exchange of knowledge and experience, whilst promoting the establishment of partnerships and the development of specific recommendations for adoption at national and/or local level.
