The Government of Sweden has made a voluntary contribution of SEK 8 500 000 (approximately €740 000) to prevent violence against women and promote gender equality in Armenia and Ukraine, as well as to reduce the backlog of well-founded cases and the outstanding unexecuted leading judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.

Ms Anna Öberg Degnbol, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. and Deputy Permanent Representative of Sweden to the Council of Europe, met with Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General, on this occasion.
