A four-day long Training of trainers (ToTs) dedicated to reinforcing judicial expertise, has been organised in co-operation with the Academy for judges and public prosecutors.
The ToTs focused on Article 10 ECHR, Freedom of expression and information, was held on 14-17 February 2017 in Ohrid. The event gathered 20 participants, namely 12 judges, 3 public prosecutors and 5 attorneys. The training was facilitated by two consultants in respect to issues on content matters, an international CoE expert and a national expert on ECHR. A third international consultant, CoE expert on adult education and methodology, facilitated the training on methodological issues.
The aim of the training was to build up on the knowledge of selected participants, both in regards to content as well as to the methodological aspect of delivering a training, with the purpose of creating a pool of trainers on Freedom of expression and freedom of the media that would be engaged in the future cascade trainings to be organised in the next two years.
The event was organised in the framework of the Joint Programme “Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
