Workshop on strengthening the Media Information Literacy (MIL) Network through transferring experiences

Under the Joint Project “Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)” co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe, on 21 September 2018, the Council of Europe co-organised, in co-operation with the Macedonian Institute for Media and the Media regulatory authority - the Agency for audio and audio-visual media services, a workshop to support the work of the recently established Macedonian MIL network by exchanging experiences and best practices with the Irish MIL Network.

Ms Martina Chapman, member of the Council of Europe’s Committee of experts on quality journalism in the digital age (MSI-JOQ Committee), facilitated the workshop and shared with the participants her valuable extensive experience gained as a co-ordinator of the Irish MIL network, one of the 4 networks in Europe. Participants further had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge in developing effective MIL networks during the constructive debate that followed Ms. Chapman’s presentation, including on possible venues for supporting the Macedonian MIL network.
