Capacities of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection in Serbia raised on access to information

Fifteen members of the staff from the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection in Serbia completed the first training on the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) case-law and the Council of Europe Convention on Access to Official Documents (Tromsø Convention). The Commissioner is the independent body that protects the right to free access to information of public importance in Serbia. The Commissioner’s staff enhanced their knowledge on relevant Council of Europe standards, through the analysis and discussion of the ECtHR most relevant judgments, as well as of minimum standards and monitoring and reporting mechanisms established under the Tromsø Convention.

This activity is supported by the action “Protecting freedom of expression and of the media (PROFREX) in Serbia”,  within the framework of the joint European Union and the Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye”.
