The European Youth Foundation is visiting projects it is supporting and run by non-governmental youth organisations.

Through the visits the Foundation expects to increase the visibility of the EYF and the Council of Europe; give feedback to the Programming Committee on Youth (more about the Committee); establish contact with youth NGOs; get to know NGOs and the work they do.

Visited projects are organised by non-governmental youth organisations (NGOs) which are registered with the Foundation and received a grant. (More information on the application process).

Monitoring visit to an international activity by Nordic Youth Organisation

On 14-15 March 2024, the EYF Secretariat visited a workshop on active youth participation organised by Nordic Youth Organisation (NordYouth) in Göteborg, Sweden.

This activity marks the beginning of NordYouth’s 2024 workplan which aims at strengthening youth participation in democracy and decision making to empower new changemakers, able to create positive changes in their communities.

This was a three-day knowledge and skills development training for the workplan’s core group of 11 youth leaders who worked on getting a common understanding of what it means to be an active participant in democratic processes and what the needs of young people to become more active are.

The sessions included an introduction to the Council of Europe’s youth sector priorities the opportunities for financial and educational support provided by the EYF.

The next phases of the workplan will include an international activity and workshops on leadership skills development and awareness raising.

The project is supported by the EYF as part of the programme of grants for annual work plans.
