In order to disseminate its opportunities for youth NGOs, the EYF organises, in co-operation with member states, training events for youth organisations at national and local level. These events include sessions about the EYF, its grants and working methods, as well as sessions on youth policy and project management. These events have been organised as of 2018, following a series of five thematic seminars organised at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg. The in-country training activities allow for closer co-operation with youth structures and young people from each member state.

At European level, the EYF organises a variety of initiatives to provide support to youth organisations in their grant implementation.

Reinforcing youth organisations' capacities in local youth projects

From 17 to 20 July 2023, the European Youth Foundation organised a training seminar for 45 representatives of youth organisations from different member states of the Council of Europe. The aim of the seminar is to increase the capacity of youth organisations to carry out high-quality youth projects, responding to youth needs in a given context, with innovative methodologies, and with a potential for multiplication, in line with the priorities of the youth sector of the Council of Europe.

During four days, using non-formal education approaches, participants learnt more about project management, stronger impact, reinforcing youth participation and engagement in projects, the human rights and gender mainstreaming approaches in youth projects.
