Workshop 6 - Electronic evidence: chain of custody and admissibility

  25 November 2025

  16h00 – 17h30 - GMT+3

 Agenda

   Room TBC

The use of electronic evidence in criminal investigations is often challenged by issues in maintaining its integrity throughout the lifecycle, from initial collection to courtroom presentation. This is true also for countries in Africa. This challenge is compounded by risks of tampering, loss, and inconsistency in handling procedures, which can lead to the inadmissibility of key evidence in court.

This workshop, on the basis of a real case scenario and with insights from speakers representing the entire chain of custody, will explore good practices in navigating legal and technical complexities to ensure admissibility of electronic evidence in criminal proceedings across Africa.
