The CyFy 2018 Africa Conference on Cyber Security and Internet Governance was held from 10 to 12 May in Tangier, Morocco.
Topics discussed involved collaboration between private sector and civil society with governments to provide universal digital access.
This CyFy Africa is a first step towards Afro-Asian cooperation and helped to address some key issues such as robotic and artificial intelligence in the light of questions related to gender, race, ethnicity and equity.
In a workshop on digital pickpockets: a new cyber-crime wave, speakers from India, Nigeria, Tanzania and the Council of Europe discussed the new threats, the criminal justice approach and the need for capacity building on cybercrime and electronic evidence.
The Council of Europe was a partner in this event.
