Strengthening local democracy with youth participation
This initiative seeks to strengthen inclusiveness within the existing participatory budgeting scheme of Balta in order to foster the engagement of young citizens in local political debates and to address their needs more effectively.
A framework for youth participation in local public decision-making processes is being developed. This framework will raise the awareness of youth, support their contribution to public consultations, and strengthen the co-operation between the Youth Council and the Civic Partnership Department of the City Council.
Balta builds on its experience with participatory budgeting since 2016.
