Congress supports creation of websites for Moroccan associations

In the framework of its cooperation activities in Morocco, the Congress provides expert support for the development of websites of two partner associations of elected representatives - the Association of Regions of Morocco (ARM) and the Moroccan Association of Presidents of Prefectural and Provincial Councils (AMPCPP). This activity, launched in March 2020, benefits from the financial support of Norway in the framework of the Council of Europe Neighbourhood Partnership with Morocco (2018-2021).

Its objective is to contribute to strengthening communication capacities of the two associations. The new platforms will allow for a better dissemination of information on the associations’ activities to members and citizens in order to improve their knowledge of priorities for action and facilitate the dialogue between different actors in the context of regionalisation and decentralised co-operation, including between the central, regional and local levels of government.

This activity is part of the South-Med Partnership programme adopted by the Congress in 2017, the purpose of which is to support territorial reforms and strengthen decentralised governance in beneficiary neighbouring countries. This programme contributes to implementing the local and regional dimension of the Council of Europe policy towards neighbouring regions, in particular the Neighbourhood Partnerships with Morocco and with Tunisia (2018-2021). The activities organised in this framework benefit from financial support by Liechtenstein, Norway and Spain.
