Call for proposals for local authorities: Partnership for Sustainable Cities 2020

The Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM) of the Committee of the Regions is launching a call for proposals: Partnership for Sustainable Cities (EuropeAid/167744/DH/ACT/Multi) as a follow-up to the first call launched in 2018.

The objective of the programme is to promote integrated urban development through partnerships built among local authorities of the EU member States and of partner countries. The programme focuses on strengthening urban governance, while at the same time ensuring social inclusiveness of cities, improving resilience and greening of cities and improving prosperity and innovation in cities. The guidelines of the call can be found on the EuropeAid website

The deadline for the submission of concept notes is 27 mars 2020 at 12:00 (Brussels time).

Interested municipalities are invited to refer to the call for proposals, which contains a full description of how to participate on the EuropeAid website.
Any questions should be addressed to
[email protected] before 6 March 2020 at the latest.

The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities has observer status with ARLEM and regularly participates in their plenary assemblies and bureau meetings. In the framework of its
cooperation links with the North African authorities, it is also an institutional stakeholder in the North-South Centre, where it represents the local dimension. The Congress has also adopted a co-operation programme entitled "South-Med Partnership", in response to the objectives of the neighbourhood policy conducted by the Council of Europe since 2011. Although the activities concern only Morocco and Tunisia, which in 2019 became partners for local democracy, the Partnership aims to extend to other neighbouring countries.
