On 6 November 2019, ambassador Thomas Schneider, the Chair of the Steering Committee on Media and Information Society (CDMSI) contributed to the Lab of the World Forum for Democracy on "Building Resilience to Disinformation".
The Steering Committee on Media and Information Society (CDMSI) is vested with the important mission to steer the work of the Council of Europe in the field of freedom of expression, media and internet governance. One of its sub-committees, Committee of experts on quality journalism in the digital age (MSI-JOQ) has submitted for approval to the CDMSI the draft recommendation on promoting a favourable environment for quality journalism in the digital age. The draft recommendation is designed to stimulate and empower independent, accurate and reliable journalism as a pillar for the functioning of democracies.
