Interprofessional training on Media reporting on judicial proceedings

The Joint EU/CoE Programme “Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)” in cooperation with the Press Council of Serbia has organised an interpofessional training on Media reporting on judicial proceedings that took place on 5 December 2018, in Nis, Serbia.

The event enabled discussion between the representatives of judiciary and journalists and ensured exchange of experiences and opinions on media reporting, relating Council of Europe standards and case law of the European Court of Human Rights. The aim of the activity was to raise awareness on professional ethics and codes of conduct and to contribute to better understanding between all involved professions, in order to improve quality of the information, citizens receive through the media. The event was organised with the support of the Judicial Academy of Republic of Serbia.
