Sinisa Bjekovic holds a master's degree in legal sciences. He is the Ombudsman of Montenegro in his second term after having served one term as Deputy Ombudsman.

In his career, he led the Human Rights Center at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro for more than a decade. He also worked extensively within the civil sector and international networks for the protection of human rights. On international level he was a long-run member of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI).

He is a lecturer at the Center for Training Judges and State Prosecutors of Montenegro and at the Police Academy of Montenegro on topics in the field of European law. He is a certified trainer in programs of the Council of Europe for training professional lawyers.

He is also the author and co-author of number of books and publications in the field of human rights, protection against discrimination and the protection of minority rights and freedoms.
