The European Silk Road widens towards the East

On 21 June, Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Venice, welcomed Maurizio Aronica, President of the Foundation For United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (FFUN SDG) and Ambassador for UNESCO Club of Bologna.

They discussed the "European Silk Road" project, a cultural itinerary which the Italian office is carrying out in synergy with the Municipality of Venice with the aim of submitting it to the Council of Europe and applying for certification.

FFUN Foundation, headquartered in Kiev, Ukraine, is active in Central-Eastern Europe and the Caucasus for the realisation of the 2030 Agenda goals on sustainable development. President Aronica signed a declaration of interest concerning the project and committed to strengthen and enhance the corridor that stretches from the Far East through Europe. He will also participate in the upcoming international stakeholder meeting scheduled in October at the prestigious Reggia di Carditello, Campania Region.
