The Italian Faro Network gathers in Castiglione del Lago

On June 18, the Italian Faro Network met for its first annual gettogether. The association Faro Trasimeno hosted the meeting in Castiglione del Lago at the Dea School of Specialisation of Perugia University.

Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, head of the Italian Office of the Council of Europe led the discussions. The website and Facebook page of the Network were presented, as well as the Network’s initiatives for European Heritage Days 2021, the project for a "Faro Film Festival" and an italian heritage communities’ database. Finally, Faro Trasimeno outlined the association's future activities.

Matteo Burico, Mayor of Castiglione del Lago, Antonella Pinna, Director of the Culture sector of the Umbria Region, Professor Cristina Papa of the University of Perugia and Mariella Morbidelli, President of Faro Trasimeno, greeted participants.

On June 19, a heritage walk to Isola Polvese took the members of the Network to discover the historical and cultural value of the site as an example of the inextricable intertwining between nature and culture.
