The Europe Direct office of the City of Venice has been appointed by the Council of Europe as national relay in Italy for the European Day of Languages.
Europe Direct is a European network which disseminates among citizens information on the activities and opportunities offered by the European Union. Created by the European Commission, Europe Direct is a key partner for the Council of Europe Venice office in the organization of general public events on Europe.
The European Day of Languages is celebrated on 26 September each year. The objectives of the Day are to promote the importance of language learning, foster multilingualism and intercultural understanding, enhance linguistic and cultural diversity and encourage language learning both inside and outside the school environment. It is a joint Council of Europe and European Commission initiative.
Anyone can actively contribute to the day by participating in activities or organising events. For more information:
