On 31 March, the concert for the “Friends of the Family Home” was part of the full programme of initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Venice in the framework of "March: Women’s month 2022".
Hosted in the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice Opera House for Institute Saint Pius X the initiative included a performance by the women’s choir of the Music Academy “Giuseppe Verdi” and the play “The woman of fire, Marietta Barovier, pioneer of Venetian pearls” by and with Chiarastella Serravalle, directed by Massimo Navone. The theatrical performance contributed to the recognition by UNESCO of the Venetian glass beads as world heritage.

Saint Pius X Home is a Venetian reality comprising protected accommodation destined to mothers and children who live situations of difficulty and fragility. It has been operating for over a century.

In opening the event the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Venice, Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, recalled that "Women’s rights are fundamental and inalienable human rights". The charity evening was sponsored by the Soroptimist Club of Venice.
