Europe Days 2021 closes with a concert

On 27 May, as a result of a collaboration with the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Venice, the Manfredi String Quartet performed a concert entitled "Europe in Music".

Formed in 2013, the Manfredi Quartet won first prize at the Gasparo da Saló competition in Brescia and the Città di Treviso international competition, and in 2018 it was selected for the "Le Dimore del Quartetto" project. It participated in the 46th Session of the Académie Internationale de Musique Maurice Ravel, at the end of which it won the prize of the "Musiciens Entre Guerre et Paix" Association. The quartet, composed of Giovanni Claudio di Giorgio (first violin), Sofia Bolzan (second violin), Matteo Terenzio Canella (viola) and Giacomo Grespan (cello), is named after Filippo Manfredi, violinist of the Quartetto Toscano, the first permanent string quartet in history formed in the mid 1800s.

The concert, marked the end of the ninth edition of Europe Days, and paid a tribute to the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth. The performance took place in the Concert Hall of the Conservatory, and was streamed live to the public.
