Again this year, the Veneto Region will participate to the annual Venice International Film Festival with its own exhibition space and a programme of events to promote film culture, organized by local associations and public bodies, including the Italian office of the Council of Europe.
On 2 September the feature film “La donna del fuoco. Marietta Barovier, pioniera delle perle veneziane” by Associazione Culturale Arte-Mide was presented. The film is inspired by the play dedicated to Marietta Barovier, the first businesswoman to open a furnace in the fifteenth century dedicating her life to glass beads, as well as the inventor of the greatest Venetian pearl called "Rosetta" also known as Chevron.
