On 3 May 2018 the partners of the North-South Centre’s Network of Universities on Youth and Global Citizenship gathered in Lisbon to reflect about the objectives, scope, governance and future developments of the Network and of its different universities. After a constructive meeting, partners agreed on a framework document that will guide the work of the Network in the next three years, clearly stating the commitments of each partner in the process.

The Network of Universities on Youth and Global Citizenship is a partnership facilitated and coordinated by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe that gathers youth organisations, youth parliamentarians, youth representatives of local and regional authorities and governmental institutions from Europe, the South Mediterranean and beyond.

The Network encourages the definition of a common agenda and the implementation of common actions to foster democratic participation and global citizenship among young people, contributing to spread universal principles, values and standards of the Council of Europe and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
