Council of Europe co-operation with IT sector: five new partners

The Council of Europe's Deputy Secretary General, Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, today exchanged letters with Element AI, ICCO, IEEE, Intel and RIPE NCC and thus formally associated themselves with the co-operation framework established in November 2017 to promote respect for human rights online.

These new partners join another nine technology firms and seven associations which already entered into the co-operation agreement with the Council of Europe in November 2017 and in May 2018 : Apple, Cloudflare, Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA), Deutsche Telekom, DigitalEurope, EurolSPA, European Digital SME Alliance, European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association (ETNO), Facebook, Global Network Initiative (GNI), Google, GSMA, Kaspersky, Microsoft, Orange and Telefonica.

Following the decision of the Committee of Ministers on 16 March 2022 the Russian Federation is no longer a member of the Council of Europe. The website will be updated as soon as possible to take account of this development.
