Training for journalists on protection of whistlebowers

A one-day training for journalists on protection of whistleblowers and access to public documents was organised in Pristina, Kosovo* on 20 September 2018 under the framework of the Joint Project Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.

The purpose of this training was to strengthen the knowledge of media actors on whistleblowing, especially on international standards that regulate this issue. Also, this training was intended to unfold local cases of whistleblowers and legal routes that are followed in these cases. In the second part of the training vital aspects of the right to access to public documents were tackled. The training was delivered by the international and local experts.
