The joint CoE/EU Project “Freedom of Expression and Freedom of the Media in Albania (JUFREX 2)” has reached a commitment of collaborating through grants with four Albanian partners: the School of Magistrates, the Bar Association, the Albanian Media Council and Res Publica.  

The Action under the “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” is to support activities that will strengthen the application of standards of Article 10 of ECHR and the jurisprudence of ECtHR in Albanian courts and contribute towards a media environment which is safer and more pluralistic, while upholding professional and ethical standards.

The grant agreements will cover the period May 2020 to May 2022 and represent a continued and fruitful cooperation of the project from previous phase with these partners.

Through an all-inclusive approach JUFREX 2 in Albania combines legal and institutional assistance with capacity building and dialogue of relevant actors in the country in support of freedom of expression and media.
