Throughout 2025, several German Länder continued dedicated dialogue formats bringing together police authorities, journalists' associations, media representatives and other stakeholders to discuss challenges affecting journalists' safety. These exchanges aim to identify emerging risks, improve mutual understanding and strengthen cooperation between media professionals and law enforcement authorities.
Particularly in Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate, round-table discussions continued to serve as platforms for addressing threats against journalists, exchanging good practices and developing preventive approaches to improve safety conditions for media professionals.
