Throughout 2025, a series of meetings, workshops and training activities brought together police officers, prosecutors, journalists and media professionals to strengthen cooperation, mutual trust and understanding of journalists’ safety challenges. Activities focused on institutional responses to threats, communication during sensitive events and mechanisms for protecting journalists while carrying out their professional duties.

The Ministry of Interior continued implementing its Memorandum of Cooperation with the Association of Journalists of Macedonia and maintained a network of national and local focal points dedicated to journalists’ safety. Practical manuals and guidance materials developed jointly by institutions and journalists’ organisations continued to support prevention and response efforts.
