Protection and safety of journalists remains a key concern for the European Union and Council of Europe. In this context the EU and CoE joint Action on “Freedom of Expression and Freedom of the Media in Albania” in collaboration with the Bar Association. With a purpose to raise the capacities and prepare local trainers in the standards of Article 10 of ECHR and ECtHR jurisprudence on protection of journalists a dedicated training was held.  

During the training, participating trainers discussed European Court of Human Rights cases and their implications for Albanian cases. One selected case was discussed in groups and participants presented their legal reasoning on the case.  

This activity was organised with the support of the project "Freedom of Expression and Freedom of the Media in South-Eastern Europe (JUFREX)", part of the Joint Program of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Horizontal Instrument for the Western Balkans and Turkey II".
