Back Germany continues to improve safety measures for journalists covering demonstrations

German police authorities continued to adapt operational concepts aimed at protecting journalists during demonstrations and other public events. Depending on local circumstances, measures included dedicated media safety points, safe spaces for journalists, specialised conflict-management officers and enhanced coordination between police press offices and media representatives.

These initiatives seek to ensure that journalists can report safely from public gatherings while maintaining constructive cooperation between media organisations and law-enforcement authorities.

The nationwide code of conduct between police and media remains the principal framework governing cooperation during demonstrations : Press Freedom Police Codex
