On 30 January 2019, at the hotel “Europe” in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), in a partnership with BiH Association of Journalists the final conference on JUFREX project cooperation with the Association was organized. The conference summarized the cooperation of JUFREX team of the Council of Europe and the BiH Association of Journalists.

The importance of cooperation on freedom of expression between two professional communities– the judiciary and the media actors – was emphasized. Within that context of free and responsible media, such issues as hate speech, defamation and many other topics covered within JUFREX activities were mentioned, as well as the importance of protection of journalists.

At separate panels, the participants spoke about application of the Law on Protection against Defamation, hate speech, criminal protection of journalists and media professionals and media reporting from judicial institutions. Participants of the conference were journalists, editors, publishers, as well as judges, prosecutors and lawyers from entire BiH.
