BRIEF DESCRIPTION: In Germany, an anti-SLAPP alliance (Strategic Lawsuits Agains Public Participation) has been formed to combat legal intimidation attempts against critical voices, such as those of journalists.
A larger project has now emerged from the alliance: The national No-SLAPP contact point for the protection of journalistic work - funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

The No-SLAPP contact point began its work on 16 May 2024. Among other things, it will prepare information on SLAPPs, provide support for those affected and offer training for media professionals, other potentially affected persons and lawyers. Cooperation partners are the dju in ver.di, DJV, Reporters Without Borders, blueprint for free speech, Frag den Staat, Aktion gegen Arbeitsunrecht.
Philipp Wissing from Blueprint For Free Speech will manage the project on a full-time basis.
