Back Cybercrime@EAP 2018: Participation at the Annual Meeting of the Cybercrime Working Group at the Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe

Cybercrime@EAP 2018 project country teams, consisting of cybercrime investigators and police cooperation officers, participated in the 5th Annual Meeting of the Pompidou Group, which took place on 18-19 April 2018 in Dublin, Ireland. The Pompidou Group is the Council of Europe’s co-operation group to combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking in drugs. The Annual Meeting of the Cybercrime Working Group of the Pompidou reunited over 90 participants from 33 countries and 10 international organizations and private institutions.

During the meeting, a series of discussions took place related to drug related crimes on Darknet and use of crypto-currencies, money laundering, Internet investigations, “Bayonet” and “Hansa” operations, the use of social media, investigation of online supply of medical products, and customs co-operation. It is the second time for the Cybercrime@EAP projects to take part in the Cybercrime Working Group of the Pompidou, with past attendance of the 4th Annual Meeting in December 2016 in Strasbourg.
