International Network of the National Judicial Trainers: second call of the Steering Committee

The Steering Committee of the International Network of the National Judicial Trainers on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence held its second coordination meeting on 28 October 2021, with the support of GLACY+, iPROCEEDS-2, CyberSouth and CyberEast projects in their capacity as Secretariat of the Network.

The Secretariat presented a progress report on activity of the Network since the first steering committee, as well as the preliminary results of the global survey that was conducted recently this year. Participants also received updates on the training materials of the Council of Europe and the status of delivery.

The focal points from 14 participating countries (Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cabo Verde, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jordan, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Paraguay, Senegal, Tunisia, Ukraine) actively engaged in discussing the current challenges of judicial training on cybercrime and electronic evidence and the needs in terms of capacity building and explored together potential future lines of action of the Network to address those needs.

For the next period the activities conducted under the framework of the Network will focus on organizing the second series of practitioners-to-practitioners workshop and analyzing the feasibility of setting up working groups on various topics of interest.

The next Steering Committee is scheduled to take place in January 2022 aiming to frame the work plan of the Network for 2022.
