CyberSouth: Review of cybercrime legislation against the provisions of the Budapest Convention in Jordan

On 23 of September, under the framework of CyberSouth project a workshop aiming to assess the amendments to the Electronic Crimes Law of Jordan was organised in Amman, Jordan. The activity was supported by Jordanian Army Force and was attended by the members of the Law Committee in charge with drafting the amendments.

The experts of the Council of Europe provided recommendations and guidance for the amendments on the cybercrime and electronic evidence legislation in line with the provisions of the Budapest Convention.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, leading the Law Committee participated at the opening of the workshop and confirmed the commitment of Jordan to adapt its legislation with the international standards.

The results of the workshop will be further discussed by the Law Committee and the the Council of Europe through CyberSouth project will continue to support Jordan in this endeavour.
