CyberSouth: Internal Security Forces in Lebanon trained magistrates on electronic evidence

Following the judicial training on cybercrime and electronic evidence that was held in Beirut on 11-15 September 2018, under the framework of CyberSouth project, the Lebanese magistrates requested to have a practical training on handling electronic evidence in criminal cases. The Internal Security Forces set up a workshop with examples of crime scenes, offering magistrates the possibility to experience the work of cybercrime investigators and forensic experts dealing with collection of electronic evidence. The workshop revealed to be very useful and encouraging for magistrates to learn about the investigative techniques and better understand the challenges which law enforcement officers are confronted with and to have a closer dialogue between police and magistrates.

CyberSouth project will continue to assist efforts in developing the capabilities to fight cybercrime for the Lebanese authorities, according to the workplan agreed for the next year.
