The Governance Committee held a remote meeting on 12 May and adopted two reports – explanatory memorandums – one entitled ”Territorial Solidarity: the role regions can play” and the other one on the topic of “The Future Role of the Municipal Councillor”, approving related draft resolutions and recommendations. In addition, the Committee was updated on the preparation of the reports on smart cities and regions as well as on deliberative democracy at local and regional levels. Finally, the Committee held exchange of views on the workplan 2021-2022 and proposals for future reports as well as on the draft recommendation of the Committee of Ministers on the democratic accountability of elected representatives and elected bodies at local and regional level.
