On 15 April 2021, the Congress and the Government of Moldova signed a roadmap for the implementation of the Congress recommendations aimed at strengthening local and regional democracy in the country. The roadmap was signed by the President of the Congress, Leen Verbeek and by the Secretary General of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Liliana Iaconi.

President Verbeek welcomed the signing of this roadmap and thanked the Congress rapporteurs on the Republic of Moldova, Gunn-Marit Helgesen (Norway, EPP/CCE) and Marc Cools (Belgium, ILDG) for their contribution.

“The signing of this roadmap demonstrates the political will and strong commitment of the Moldovan authorities to the development of local and regional democracy in the country in full respect of the principles of the Charter”, said President Verbeek.
