2 films supported by Eurimages awarded at the Venice Film Festival

Two Eurimages-supported films feature in the official awards of the 69th Venice International Film Festival which ended last week-end at the Lido:
- Paradise: Faith, Ulrich Seidl’s second feature in the Paradise trilogy (AT, FR, DE) selected in the official competition obtained the Special Jury Prize. This film was also awarded the CinemAvvenire Award for Best Film of Venezia 69.
- Tango Libre, a co-production between Belgium, France and Luxembourg directed by Frédéric Fonteyne and selected in the competition Horizons (Orizzonti) obtained the Special Orizzonti Jury Prize.
As part of the collateral awards, the film The Fifth Season by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, a Belgian-Dutch co-production also supported by Eurimages and selected in the official competition, was awarded the Arca CinemaGiovani Award for Best Film of Venezia 69 as well as the Green Drop Award.

  • It is with a profound sense of shock that we have learned of the death of Artan Minarolli, Albanian representative at Eurimages Board of Management. In Artan, Eurimages has lost not only a valued filmmaker but also a great friend, appreciated by all for his kindness and warmth.  We grieve the loss of Artan with the Albanian film community, the memory of Artan will remain with us through his films and his unforgettable smile.

Info for exhibitors

  • From 1 January 2016, the rules for Eurimages' support for theatres have been modified. A theatre that wishes to join the network must apply before 30 June at 6pm of the current year for an accession the following year.

    Full participation in the Creative Europe-Media Sub-programme is announced for 2016 for “the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, Albania and Serbia. Therefore these countries will no longer be eligible for Eurimages’ theatre support programme.

    Only theatres located in Eurimages member states that do not have access to support under the Creative Europe MEDIA programme are eligible for the Eurimages programme of support for theatres: Armenia, Georgia, Russian Federation, Switzerland and Turkey.

     

Info for distributors

  • From 1 January 2016, the rules for Eurimages' support for distribution have been modified.

    Full participation in the Creative Europe-Media Sub-programme is announced for 2016 for “the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, Albania and Serbia. Therefore these countries will no longer be eligible for Eurimages’ distribution support programmes.

    This support is intended for professionals based in Eurimages member states which do not have access to the EU Creative Europe-MEDIA distribution programme: Armenia, Georgia, Russian Federation, Switzerland and Turkey.
