The Distribution Support Programme ended on March 31, 2020, following a decision by the Eurimages Board of Management at its 156th meeting (October 2019).

This Programme was intended only for distributors whose head office was in a Member State of the Fund which did not have access to the Creative Europe-MEDIA distribution programme of the EU (on the 1st of January 2019, Armenia, Canada, Russian Federation, Georgia, Switzerland, Turkey) and aimed to contribute to the marketing and advertising costs of eligible films carried by distributors selected by Eurimages.

Following the market consultation launched on 31 August 2020, the Study on the feasibility, pertinence and design of a scheme aimed at supporting the distribution, circulation and sales of feature-length fiction, animation and documentary films originating in Eurimages’ member States has been entrusted to Ernst & Young Advisory (France).

A EY team composed of experienced consultants in economic development and impact assessment studies in the cultural and audiovisual sectors has conducted interviews, online surveys and workshops with relevant stakeholders.

The final study report was presented to the Board of Management during its plenary meeting on Friday 19 March 2021 and its executive summary is now publicly available. The Study Group of the Board of Management responsible for the follow-up of the external evaluation will subsequently examine the recommendations developed in this report.
