Pompidou Group - Combating drug abuse and drug trafficking

European Drug Prevention Prize - 2004
For the very first edition of the European Drug Prevention Prize the Pompidou Group received 44 applications.

The award ceremony took place on the occasion of the first European Drug Prevention Forum, which was held in Yekaterinburg (Russian Federation) on 6-7 October 2004.

The 2004 European Prevention Prize amounted to 1,500 Euros for each winner.

After a careful analysis of all projects, the Jury decided to award the first European Prevention Prize to the three following projects.
« Be Aware » (Slovenia)

Offering young people alternatives for spending their free time in a creative way, encouraging them to participation actively and responsibly in the project and the field of interest as well as helping them to make responsible choices concerning their body and their life.

Carrying out youth specific health promotion and drug prevention based on improving their confidence in their own judgment, life skills, capacity for living with others and physical awareness.
