Interprofessional round-table on Media reporting on judicial proceedings

The Joint EU/CoE Programme “Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)” has organised an interpofessional round-table on Media reporting on judicial proceedings that took take place on 16 November 2018, in Podgorica, Montenegro.

The event enabled discussion between the representatives of judiciary and journalists and ensured exchange of experiences and opinions on media reporting, relating to the Council of Europe standards and case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). The aim of the activity was to raise awareness on professional ethics and codes of conduct and to contribute to better understanding between all involved professions, in order to improve a quality of the information the citizens receive through the media. In organization of the event, the Council of Europe partners were the Association of professional journalists of Montenegro and the Centre for Training in Judiciary and State Prosecution.
