The news was officially announced on 20 May during the Cannes Film Festival: like Canada, Argentina will benefit from the status of associate member of the Eurimages Fund as of 1 October 2019. Argentinian producers will be able to apply for funding as of the last call for projects of 2019, for which the deadline has been set at 22 October 2019. The Eurimages team wishes to draw the attention of producers to the following points in the Co-production support regulations:

2.1.3. General provisions
Projects submitted must be co-productions between at least two independent producers, established in different member states of the Fund, of which at least one is a member state of the Council of Europe.

2.5.1. Technical and artistic co-operation and financial co-productions
Projects must display artistic and/or technical co-operation between at least two co-producers established in different member states of the Fund, of which at least one is a member state of the Council of Europe.
