In the framework of the 2020 CPH:FORUM edition which was held this week in a new and successful way in a virtual space, the jury composed of Salma Abdalla (Autlook Filmsales), Malin Hüber (HER Films) and Nino Kirtadze (GE) for Eurimages decided to award the Eurimages Co-production Development Award of 15 000 euros to the project Hana Korea which will be directed by Frederik Sølberg and produced by Sara Stockmann (Sonntag Pictures, DK) in co-operation with Heejung Oh from the South-Korean company Seesaw Pictures. 06-03-2020 - Last night, the jury of the Eurimages Co-production Development Award given in the framework of Cartoon Movie chose to reward the project FLEAK produced by Anima Vitae (Finland), in co-operation with Animoon (Poland) and Godo Films (France). Julia Müntefering (Telepool, Germany), Eric Geay (SND, France) and Karin Schockweiler (LU) for Eurimages particularly appreciated the "fresh and new approach dealing with a sensitive and touching topic that can make a difference". 27-02-2020 - Last Sunday at the reception organised in co-operation with the Berlinale Co-Production Market, the Eurimages Co-production Development Award, of an amount of 20 000 euros, was awarded to the project There Are Two Kinds of People in This World to be directed by Onur Saylak and produced by Liman Film and b.i.t Arts (TR). The jury composed of the producer Giorgos Karnavas (GR), the world sales representative Marie-Pierre Vallé (FR) and the Czech representative of Eurimages Elena Kotová decided to reward a project “that plays with different genres, is intended for an organic co-production and tackles contemporary political issues in a surprising and original way, with a convincing artistic team behind it”. This jury also chose to award a Special Mention to the project Electric Child to be directed by Simon Jaquemet and produced by the Swiss company 8Horses.
30-01-2020 - During CineMart’s closing ceremony in Rotterdam last night, the very first Eurimages Co-production Development Award of 2020, of an amount of 20 000 euros, was awarded to the project Infanta by Natalia Garagiola, which will be produced by Benjamin Domenech for REI CINE (AR). The jury composed of producer Didar Domerhi, Rémi Bonhomme (Critics’ Week) and Dorien Van de Pas for Eurimages, chose to reward a project “with a strong directorial vision and an evident complicity between producer and director. This project with a starting point in real historical events is also a reflection on the power of collective delusion and the societal norms that make this possible.”
The next Eurimages Co-production Development Award will be awarded in the framework of the Berlinale Co-production Market, on 23 February 2020. Further information available on the Festival’s website.
