CLEP Project organised a technical study visit to Europol for the Assets Recovery Office (ARO) and National Anti-Corruption Centre of the Republic of Moldova. The head and deputy head of ARO, together with an IT specialist from the National Anti-Corruption Centre, held bilateral meetings with the Europol/CARIN Secretariat to discuss technical requirements of gaining access to SIENA (Secure Information Exchange Network Application). Latest asset recovery issues and trends were also discussed. The delegation also met with a representative of the Strategic Analysis department, as a part of EUROPOL’s orientation programme. The visit served as an opportunity for ARO to discuss ways to enhance cooperation with EUROPOL, requirements of such cooperation and operational necessities of a newly-established asset recovery office.
