The first part of this publication contains a concise analysis of challenges, gaps and opportunities in the field of human rights of LGBTI children and young people. The second part provides a collection of good practices and policies to combat discrimination against children on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity and outlines relevant international human rights obligations in the field.
It was prepared for the thematic session “Non-discrimination of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) young people” during the launching conference of the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child (Sofia, Bulgaria, 5-6 April 2016).
